American Grown Flowers Elects John Louie to Board of Directors

Third-generation Green Valley Floral grower elected to represent California

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

SACRAMENTO, Calif. — August 14, 2026 — American Grown Flowers (AGF) has announced the election of John Louie of Green Valley Floral in Salinas, California, to its Board of Directors as a District 2 representative.

Louie fills the seat vacated earlier this summer when former Board Chair Felicia Alvarez stepped down to assume the role of President & CEO of American Grown Flowers.

A third-generation member of Green Valley Floral, Louie is involved in the company’s sales, marketing, and farm operations. Established in 1973, Green Valley Floral grows and ships garden roses, spray roses, gerberas, greens, and field flowers from California.

“John brings a valuable combination of production agriculture experience, business development knowledge, and a next-generation perspective,” said Frank Arnosky of Texas Specialty Cut Flowers, Chair of the AGF Board of Directors. “We are pleased to welcome him and look forward to his contributions as AGF continues working to strengthen America’s flower and foliage farms and expand opportunities for domestic growers.”

Before returning to his family’s business, Louie graduated from Middlebury College with degrees in Economics and Political Science. He later worked with Tanimura & Antle and PlantTape in the fresh vegetable industry, gaining experience in agricultural technology, farm operations, and business development.

Today, he brings that experience to Green Valley Floral, helping expand the company’s product mix and adapt its sales channels to changing consumer and retail demand.

“I’m honored to join the American Grown Flowers Board and represent California farmers,” Louie said. “I look forward to working with my fellow growers and industry partners to support American flower farms and build greater demand for flowers and greens grown here in the United States.”

Louie joins four other District 2 directors representing California on the American Grown Flowers Board of Directors.
