Our Field to Vase Dinners are always a testament to the fact that locally sourced never fails to bring the best quality to the table – whether it is with food, wine or florals!
Chef Carole Wendling of Nosh Events, who will be catering the upcoming Field to Vase Dinner at Summer Dreams Farm in Oxford, Michigan on September 18, is a big believer in buying local and supporting community. Carole personally has 22 years of professional restaurant and catering experience and an amazing team that has the same drive and passion for all things food. She has worked at 4 and 5 star top regarded restaurants in metro Detroit – mostly for Chef Matt Prentice and has vast experience with various types of cuisines. The biggest thing that sets Nosh Events apart from any other caterer is that they prefer to do restaurant style food – “a la minute” scratch cooking is what they call it!
Their food is locally sourced as much as possible and prepared with the freshest, highest quality ingredients that in turn supports local businesses. They make everything right before it is served to you, creating an unparalleled dining experience that will exceed your expectations! If you’re looking for a culinary experience with exceptional attention to detail, look no further.
On the menu for the Field to Vase dinner, attendees can expect appetizers like tasty charcuterie cones and vegetable crudite shooters. The first course is a Fresh Summer in Michigan Salad with fresh fruits, fried goat cheese truffles and grilled vegetables. For the main course, attendees can choose between pan roasted wild salmon with smoked lemon essence and a side of brown butter stokes potato puree and crispy capers, or brick chicken breast with sweet corn and local zucchini succotash. There will also be a range of vegetarian options such as wild hydro mushroom risotto and fresh ratatouille. For dessert, attendees will have a variety of sweet and fruity options to choose from that will be sure to delight their taste buds.
Carole enjoys intimate, family-style events and is looking forward to the upcoming Field to Vase Dinner. She is excited to witness the delighted looks on people’s faces when they try her food, and ultimately wants to see that everyone is happy and having a positive experience. “An event like this really brings people together since everyone is getting the same food,” Carole said. “I think this event will have a great community atmosphere.”
Along with the delectable food that will be served, attendees will enjoy “farm to glass” wines grown, harvested and produced right there within the Great Lakes State – Michigan. Certified American Grown has partnered with the Michigan Wine Collaborative to highlight bubbly from MAWBY and wine from the Leelanau Peninsula – Austrian style power duo Blaufrankisch and Gruner Veltliner wines from Shady Lane Cellars and Pinot Noir and Riesling from Two K Farms along with their Leelanau Radnar Cider.
“We are so honored and pleased to be highlighting the fruits of the labor of both a great Michigan flower farm, Summer Dreams Farm, and also of great locally grown and produced wines,” said Camron King, Certified American Grown CEO & Ambassador. “It is through this effort to showcase local and excellence that we are able to bring the true essence of American Grown and its importance to life in a unique and immersive way. We look forward to our guests enjoying beautiful Michigan wines as well as a fantastic seasonal multi-course meal.”
Between Carole’s tasty cuisine, Derek Woodruff’s spectacular floral designs, fabulous Michigan wines and the spectacular dahlia blooms at Summer Dreams Farm, you won’t want to miss out on this amazing experience. Buy your tickets today before they sell out!
