What do you think of when someone mentions Florida? Stunning beach views in picturesque cities, palm trees, and Disneyworld are probably some of the first images that pop into your head. Country living, scenic pastures, tree farms and quaint small towns probably don’t come to mind, but would you believe us if we told you that most of the foliage produced in the United States comes from an area just like this? The location in question is Seville, Florida, home of American Grown foliage producer Fern Trust Inc.!
Fern Trust will be kicking off the first Field to Vase Dinner of 2023 on March 4! Originally scheduled to take place in November 2022, this dinner unfortunately had to be postponed due to damage caused by Hurricane Ian. Now, the Register family is back and ready to welcome attendees to their farm this spring.
While most Field to Vase Dinners are filled with an abundance of floral decor, Fern Trust is unique since it relies solely on foliage to capture the atmosphere. Surrounded by the natural beauty of moss, shady oaks, and water, this dinner is sure to delight attendees with its luscious outdoor setting. This will be Fern Trust’s second time hosting a dinner (the first being 2017) and it will be held in a slightly different location on the property, closer to the lake and the original homestead farm!
David Register, Executive Vice President and one of the owners of Fern Trust, feels excited to interact with the diverse group of attendees coming to the farm, from consumers, floral designers and wholesalers. He is looking forward to being able to show people the work that goes into growing foliage while giving them a taste of southern hospitality. “A lot of people don’t realize how much work [farming] is,” David said. “But after they see how many people interact with the product before it goes into a vase or flower shop, it gives them a greater understanding and appreciation of agriculture, and especially the floral industry.”
Returning this year to the Field to Vase Dinners will be a chance to take a VIP Farm Tour! The Fern Trust tour will be personally given by David and consist of two parts: touring the Fern Trust processing facility, then taking a walk and tractor ride to see all the various types of foliage produced.
Join us for this fabulous foliage dining experience and reserve your seat to the Fern Trust Field to Vase Dinner today! Tickets are limited so make sure to buy early. We can’t wait to see you in March.
