In the heart of the Shenandoah Valley, surrounded by the picturesque beauty of Weyers Cave, Harmony Harvest Farm hosted an extraordinary Field to Vase Dinner on August 12, 2023. Guests were welcomed into the farm’s charming, rustic barn, which had been transformed into a stunning space filled with dried floral beauty and rustic elegance. As they mingled during the reception, attendees were immediately captivated by the natural charm and inviting atmosphere of the venue.
One of the evening’s highlights was the breathtaking floral designs by the renowned TJ McGrath. Known for his minimalist approach and sustainable practices, McGrath showcased the farm’s handmade floral frogs, produced by Floral Genius, in his creations. Complementing these were other floral mechanics provided by New Age Floral and the innovative Oshun Pouch. Each arrangement was a testament to the farm’s vibrant blooms, with the simplicity and elegance of his designs perfectly reflecting the farm’s commitment to natural beauty.
The event was further elevated by the generous contributions of local wineries Pearmund Cellars and Purple WOLF Vineyard, offering a curated selection of fine wines that perfectly complemented the evening’s festivities. Guests also enjoyed a variety of delicious craft beers from Stablecraft Brewing, adding to the relaxed and celebratory atmosphere. The combination of great live music and carefully chosen beverages set the tone for an unforgettable evening.
The culinary highlight of the evening was an artfully prepared multi-course dinner, expertly crafted by ESC, Eric Stamer Catering. Using the freshest local ingredients, the team at ESC delivered a farm-to-table experience that was a feast for both the eyes and the palate. Each course reflected the natural beauty and bounty of the surrounding landscape, with dishes that not only delighted the guests but also honored Harmony Harvest Farm’s commitment to sustainability and local sourcing.
As the evening drew to a close, guests were treated to a whimsical and unexpected surprise. Harmony Harvest Farm’s own Jessica Hall and Stephanie Duncan made a playful entrance in delightful costumes, adding a lighthearted touch to the night. Their appearance was met with cheers and laughter as they led a spirited auction for a special, limited-edition print. The energy in the room was infectious, with guests enthusiastically bidding for the opportunity to take home a unique memento of the evening.
As the sun set over the Shenandoah Valley, casting a golden glow over the farm, the sense of community and connection was undeniable. The Field to Vase Dinner at Harmony Harvest Farm was more than just a meal—it was a celebration of the beauty of nature, the creativity of artists like TJ McGrath, and the dedication of farmers like Jessica Hall and Stephanie Duncan. The evening ended with guests lingering under the stars, sipping wine and taking home flowers, grateful for the opportunity to be part of such a special event.
