Scientific research shows that flowers have a beneficial impact on our state of mind and emotions. Behavioral studies have proven that flowers provide a simple way to improve emotional health. The presence of flowers triggers happy emotions, heightens feelings of life satisfaction and affects social behavior in a positive manner far beyond what is normally believed.  According to research conducted at Rutgers, flowers make people happier than they know. Feelings such as happiness, surprise and enjoyment increase in the presence of flowers.

Did you know that flowers love food as much as we do?

The risk of poor nutrition affects all living things in much the same way.  We humans in the short-term tend to get a little "angry" and complain a bit until we provide our body with the nourishment it needs.  We may experience higher levels of stress, tiredness, a lack of capacity to work, or a dreadful cocktail of all three.  (Ugh!)  That being said, the long-term effects can lead to disease and eventual decay which is, needless to say, a much more permanent situation and irreparable damage has been inflicted.  Serious stuff.

Flowers are not so different from us in this respect.  If flowers are not fed and nourished correctly, they have exactly the same response. Many times you've heard "the flowers were stressed" or "the flowers look tired".  Extenuating circumstances yield even poorer results with flowers arriving discolored, dehydrated, and you are just plain old disappointed.

Don't fret, there is a solution for the vitality of your flowers! In order for your flowers to perform at their best at your home, we recommend that you use flower food when you put them in water. Simply use the flower food packet that came with your purchase/gift and follow the use instructions displayed on the back of the packet.

The long journey from harvest to home is complete, Time to enjoy the beauty of your fresh cut flowers!  The important steps you take now – trimming, hydrating and nourishing – will set you on the right path.

Flowers don’t die once they are cut from their root.  Your flowers are living breathing beings. They need a good environment, nutrition and hydration in order to last long, shine bright and stay strong for your continued enjoyment.
